She is delighted to be serving on the Advisory Board and hopes to continue to make a valuable contribution in meeting its strategic objectives and shaping future activities for the benefit of local residents.
Heli was previously employed by Community Links, setting up the New Deal initiative to assist young people into employment. She has a trade union background spanning 10 years, working for the NUT, where she represented teachers. She is passionate about social justice, and currently works in employment rights, working with Residents, Employers and Unions. Heli is an active member of various networks and platforms, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and understanding of the issues faced by local residents who are amongst the most disadvantaged communities in London.
She thinks the Advisory Board plays a vital role in preserving the brand and identity of Community Links, ensuring its commitment to Newham is maintained through its work and extensive range of projects.
