Amy works for the Rt Hon Stephen Timms, MP for East Ham and speaks to constituents each day about the problems they are facing. The range of issues she deals with are very broad, and includes problems surrounding housing, immigration, and welfare benefits. As part of her role, she gathers monthly
casework data, which gives her an insight into the various issues that residents are confronted with, whilst enabling her to identify emerging problems. She is particularly interested in the role of social prescribers and local community services in helping vulnerable people, offering crisis support and targeting loneliness and isolation.
“Each week I refer several constituents to Community Links, so that they can get the further support they need. I am very grateful for Community Links’ service and believe their dedication to the local community is what enables them to support people so effectively. It is therefore important that they stay rooted in East London and the advisory committee will be a great help in this.”
