Do you want to know how we reduced Jobcentre delays from 8 weeks to 3 days at virtually no cost?

Our own training packages – on how to design excellent public services, or to campaign at the grassroots – are proven and effective. But never afraid of a challenge, we’re equally happy to work with you to develop and deliver something new.

For example, we believe those who experience a problem understand it best, but freeing this knowledge can be tricky. Luckily we’ve worked out how, and our charity’s success is testament to that. We reduced Jobcentre delays from 8 weeks to 3 days by asking Jobcentre customers why it was taking so long – it turned out they were struggling to fill in the forms, which were getting rejected and causing big delays. Volunteers helped them fill in, delays dropped dramatically. That was one of the first examples of our Everyday Innovator approach, which we’ve now turned into a training package.

Improve public services

To improve public services you need to ask those who know what’s wrong – in our experience that’s the people experiencing the problem.

This approach, which we call Everyday Innovators, has been incredibly successful for us in improving services in Newham. Now we’d like to share it with you.

We involve everyone, from users to staff to the public, in identifying the problems, developing new ideas, testing them, and sharing the experience with others.
