Do you know what young single parents want most?
Answer: a social life. Somewhere to meet other young parents, share tips, and get advice.
Or did you know that 1 in 5 people in your community might be working cash-in-hand, but want to go legit?
As a community charity in a deprived area, we specialise in conducting research and evaluation with so-called ‘hard-to-reach’ communities and on difficult subjects, throwing up surprising and powerful results which other researchers might miss.
We use innovative techniques, many of which we’ve pioneered ourselves, to get into communities others struggle to access. In our eyes, no community is hard to reach.
We have researched child poverty, youth unemployment, cash-in-hand work, cohesion, and diversity issues within some of the most deprived areas in the country. We’re particular experts in finding out about the informal economy – perhaps the only organisation in the country doing this work.
In evaluation work, our clients range from community-based groups to public sector institutions. To us, evaluation is about using people’s stories to improve programmes and services, and through creative opportunities we empower communities to tell their stories.
All our consultancy work is based on 35 years experience running projects in east London, many of which sprang up out of our research. Our team is qualified, experienced, and passionate about what they do.
