Inspiring Social Change
There is much that is bad in the world; talent wasted, aspirations unrealised, illness endured and harm done. But there is much more that is good; people supporting one another; communities, businesses and governments finding solutions to problems; generosity and differences resolved. linksUK aims to share inspiring examples of positive social change, understand the processes and support others to develop new social actions.
Our pioneering work on the Values of the Third Sector “Living Values” examined motivation and principles of third sector organisations and found the most successful had clearly articulated values: “We may not know what challenges we will face tomorrow – but we should know exactly what inspires us, how we will behave and what we are trying to achieve”
Values alone will not provide social change – there needs to be direction and organisation. The “Unconditional Leadership” programme is a values driven approach, unleashing the potential of the individual and building leaders at every level of an organisation. The work is based on the book by Community Links co-founder David Robinson.
David is currently leading the Prime Ministers Council on Social Action to generate ideas and initiatives through which Government and other key stakeholders can inspire, catalyse and celebrate social action.
This year the inaugural Chain Reaction www.chain-reaction.org event will bring together community activists, policy makers, business leaders and young people make connections and share learning to build a better world.
