Up to £250 available for local organisations to run ‘listening’ events on work and
Community Links and Church Action on Poverty are inviting applications from local or grassroots organisations to run ‘listening’ activities in their communities. The activities will listen to people experiencing poverty about their views and experiences of work and unemployment, uncovering the issues and myths that keep people poor. Community charities win funding to tackle working age poverty in the UK.
Community Links and Church Action on Poverty have been awarded funding for a nine month national programme raising awareness of working age poverty in the UK. The funding was awarded by the Department of Work and Pensions as part of the European Year Against Poverty 2010. Over 20% of working age adults live in poverty in the UK.
