Enterprise day: Supporting local people to run their own business
05 Mar 2013
Community Links will be launching "Links 2 Enterprise": A new initiative supporting Newham residents to realise their dream of self employment on Tuesday 12th March at our Community Enterprise Day.
The Free event at Community Links’ Canning Town centre at 105 Barking Road E16, marks the launch of a programme, supported by Barclays which will assist local people to understand how they could set up their own enterprise. Budding entraprenuers will be inspired by stories of successful local business people, new, established and aspiring business owners.
There will be the chance to win trading opportunities in street market stalls and retail centres – helping to remove the fear of the unknown; and a chance to gain confidence through pitching a business idea to a panel of experts with a chance to win a place on an intensive, two day Business Boot camp.
"The support from the Enterprise programme has helped me take the leap from five years on a cold windy Rathbone market stall, to setting up my own shop. A step I believed was too far"
Jackie Dacres of Rekindled Limited (Started trading in Well Street Hackney 2 February 2013).
The Links2Enterprise programme will provide support and one-to-one guidance for those wishing to set up a business or new enterprise. Community Links is inviting anyone with a business idea, business plan or a desire to start any kind of business who needs a little help or encouragement to attend the enterprise day on March 12th.
