Congratulations to Education Links
06 Jul 2011
Community Links' own independent school Education Links, has been rated as “Good” in its first ever Ofsted inspection.
Education Links is an independent school operating as part of Community Links. Students who have experienced difficulties whilst in mainstream education are referred to from the Local Authority or individual schools and Education Links works with the young people to include them, catering for their emotional, intellectual and social needs.
Achieving a Good rating is a remarkable achievement for the school that only registered 18 months ago in December 2009. The school was officially opened by Stephen Timms MP in February 2010.
Sandy Davies, Principal of Education Links said
“I want to thank all the staff of the school for working hard to achieve this result, and the students deserve a thank you too, for impressing the inspector with their behaviour.”
The inspection report said that 'behaviour is good' and 'teachers are dedicated to supporting pupils'.
The students are making positive academic progress too. Last summer saw. 14 students took 43 GCSE exams in 5 subjects – Mathematics, English, English Literature, Science and Additional Science. The overall pass rate for grades A to G was 93%.
