Volunteering with the Advice Team

Community Links is looking for volunteers to work in our advice team.

We operate a busy advice service supporting over 9,000 people every year; all our advice is quality marked in accordance with Community Legal Services. In return for your kind offer to volunteer, we can provide you with training, development opportunities, a friendly work environment and references.

Volunteering with the Advice Team

Volunteer Legal Intern - (4 days per week)

Each year we have the opportunity to take on a couple of volunteer interns, under the supervision of a solicitor who conducts appeals work. Working with some of the most vulnerable member of our community, this internship offers ideal training and work experience for someone who wants to become a solicitor. As well as references etc, we offer a travel and lunch allowance.

*Summer Vacation, Volunteer Legal Internship
(3 days, per week)

This summer we have the opportunity to take on two summer vacation interns who will be supervised by a solicitor specialising in appeals work. Working with some of the most vulnerable member of our community, this internship offers ideal training and work experience for someone who wants to become a solicitor. As well as references etc, we offer a travel and lunch allowance.

*Volunteer Legal Intern (half a day per week)

Would you like to help with our weekly Tuesday morning Client Interviewing and Form Filling Service (CIFFS)? Alongside lawyers from the City you will be helping clients to complete application forms for welfare benefits. This opportunity will improve your client interviewing and writing skills and help to build your confidence when dealing with clients face-to-face. It will also give you the opportunity to work in a legal environment, whilst giving back to the community. Full training is given and we can generally pay your travel costs.
