Community Links Tea Party

Put the 'tea' back into c'ommunity' by holding a tea party in your office, home, or community centre and bring people together while raising funds to help tackle poverty and strengthen communities.

Community Links Tea Party

How to plan your tea party…

Pick your tea party place and people
Lots of places are perfect for a get together and there are lots of people just waiting to be asked! Why not involve your work colleagues in your canteen, reception, or at your desk, the children and teachers at your school, your friends and family in your home, or fling the doors open of your local community centre/church and invite everyone in!

Advertise your tea party
You can choose a theme… high tea, children’s tea, Mad Hatters tea, Long Island iced tea, tea-dance, or just a good old fashioned cup of tea. You can customise our poster to send to guests, insert your own details and photo, or make your own. And don’t forget to let us know you’re holding a tea party.

Get supporters involved
Think who can help make cakes and serve tea? Maybe your employer will contribute to the tea party supplies, or a local business might sponsor your event, or offer cakes or a prize for a raffle?

Make your cakes
See our cake ideas and share your own on our cake bake blog below.

Set up your fundraising
On the day decorate your tea stand and let people know what a difference their contributions will be making. You may want to indicate a suggested amount for different cakes and biscuits, or just a one donation on the door covers all policy. A raffle, prize draw or themed competition can all help boost your fundraising tea target. If you’d like some leaflets about Community Links to share at the table, feel free to get in touch with us and we can pop them in the post.

Enjoy your Tea Party
We all like a cup of tea and a chat and your tea party will bring people together, sharing stories, eating delicious cake and taking time out of the usual day to pause. Community Links believes in strengthening communities and your tea party funds will make a great difference.

Send in your fundraising
Count up your contributions and make a cheque payable to Community Links Trust and send for the attention of Thomas Crews, Community Links, 105 Barking Road, Canning Town, London, E16 4HQ.
