Our Drive is our belief that every child can succeed, but some are denied the opportunity. Poverty, addiction, crime, neglect, abuse – the problems of our most deprived inner cities can seem overwhelming. Can anyone struggling with such troubling issues really turn their life around?
We know they can. People here at Community Links prove it every day. Community Links helps thousands of people change their lives, but we need your help to keep on doing it.
Many of the people we work with struggle to overcome difficult and complex problems. Everyday we see the impact that living in poverty has on the lives of local people; poor health, inadequate housing, debt problems, children excluded from school, troubled teenagers caught up in anti-social behaviour or themselves the victims of crime. We also see how people are able to turn their lives around when given the support and help they need to tackle their problems. Our community projects reach over 30,000 vulnerable children, young people, adults and older people every year, empowering individuals and communities to build their own ladders out of poverty and towards a brighter future.
“Claude came to us with a horrendous track record in school – non attendance and aggressive behaviour. A member of the Education Links team recognised his passion for food and entered him for a catering placement. He had to go through heats and beat a good few people. He would come back to our staff for encouragement and support. He got to the last round where he was judged by Anton Mossiman. He won his place on a catering college course. And that’s why I love this job.” Sophie, Education Links
Generous backing by Chevron means the sponsorship funds you raise will go straight to Community Links, making a massive difference to helping turn lives around long after the chequered flag comes down and the adrenaline has worn off. Sign up your team now and help make the Chevron Community Links Karting Challenge 2010 our best yet!
Your Sponsorship Drive ensures we are able to maintain our work with disadvantaged families in one of the most deprived areas of east London. It really does make all the difference. To enter the Karting Challenge teams agree to raise a minimum of £700 before the race - the drivers and/or sponsorship can cover this. Teams in previous years have raised far beyond this figure by asking colleagues, friends and company contacts to sponsor every lap their team completes and we hope you will do the same. Once your team has registered we’ll email you a drivers pack which includes tips on how you can maximise your fundraising. Drivers must be aged over 18.
Book online using our form below. You can also download a brochure here, or contact emma.taylor@community-links.org with any questions. Please remember that places are limited and this year there is only one race night so please book early to avoid disappointment.
