Community Links Karting Challenge

A BIG THANK YOU to all the teams who competed in our Karting Challenge on Wed 9 June, it was a great night of racing and fundraising!
Twelve teams from Canary Wharf and the City took part in the Chevron Community Links Karting Challenge last Wednesday, raising £21,000 for Community Links’ poverty-fighting work in east London.
Morgan Stanley’s MSIT team scooped the top fundraising spot, raising an amazing £4334. They were followed by Thames Water’s Beckton Rockets and Deutsche Bank’s Crash Test Dummies. In the driving race the Crash Test Dummies came top of the podium, with MSIT and the Beckton Rockets nipping at their tyres.
The event is in its 15th year, and is an annual event for London business teams who raise sponsorship to compete in a 2 hour endurance race. Since its beginning, Community Links and event sponsor Chevron have raised funds for the charity’s work in an area where 58% of children live in poverty. Community Links changes the lives of children and adults in East London, helping them to achieve their potential and build their own ladders out of poverty.
Geraldine Blake, Community Links Chief Executive said: “It’s truly fantastic that the business community has come together to drive against poverty and raise funds for the crucial work of Community Links.”
