about us all about Community Links
It's not like they're workers...the people here really care about my familyService user at Rokeby Hub
(quoted in Robinson, D. Out of the Ordinary)
At Community Links we are proud of our diverse workforce who have an enormous range of skills and abilities. Our staff are supported by our Senior Management Team, who in turn are supported by the governance of our Board of Trustees. The Community Links Business Leaders Group help to extend our network of supporters and givers.
We are especially proud of our record of employing local people and former service users; around half of our staff live locally and half of our frontline staff are former services users. Our team focus on the needs of those we support, we value understanding and experience of the issues affecting the people we work with. Our staff are able to empathise, or in the case of former service users, to act as a role model for others.
Our values based recruitment processes identifies those who share our approach. We value diversity and we value lived experience. Our recruitment processes are fair and rigorous and all staff involved have received appropriate training. Once in post we ensure that all staff have the support they need to do their job. All employees are encouraged to continue to develop their skills and widen their experience through the range of personal development tools and opportunities, which may include coaching, mentoring and shadowing alongside more formal training. Staff are encouraged to use these opportunities as tools to build their own career, rather than thinking of Community Links as an employer for life.
